Diecast Cockshutt Farm Toys

This Brantford, Ontario, Canada based farm equipment company began as Brantford Plow Works by James G Cockshutt in 1877.  For many years they were known for their high quality tillage products, but did not actually have a tractor of their own.  In 1929 they made an agreement with Allis-Chalmers to distribute their tractors, and then in 1935 they took on the Oliver tractor line.

Some of the Cockshutt models include the 30, and then later came the 20, 40 and 50. In 1958 another lineup of tractors was produced, including the 540, 550, 560 and 570. Their modern styling set a new standard in the way that tractors were designed.

In 1958 the company was taken over by White Farm Equipment, which also acquired Oliver and Minneapolis-Moline as well. The Cockshutt name continued in use until the mid 1970's.

A piece of Canadian agricultural history, a diecast Cockshutt tractor will be a great addition to your collection.
