Case International Farm Toys

Case Corporation has a long history of in the agricultural industry, which dates back to the 1830's, when farm equipment was in its infancy.  At the time the greatest innovation of the day was the "thresher", which could cut wheat, without the need for people to actually cut it.  Case was an innovator in this type of farm equipment, until close to the turn of the 20th century, when Case started building tractors with gasoline engines.  During the time many manufacturers saw the need to merge and create one large company to export harvesting equipment around the world.  7 companies merged and named the company International Harvester Company.

Fast forward to 1919 and competition in this fast growing business was gaining ground. Now there was a 4 way race, between Ford, John Deere, Case and International Harvester, which were all fighting for a share of the market. Ford, because of it's presence in the automobile industry was by far the largest of the group and easily dominated with 73% market share, vs. Case market share of around 9%.

Fast forward to the 1980's when Case purchased some of the assets of International Harvester and were renamed Case International, then Case IH. Today, Case is owed by a large company called CNH Global, which is owned by Fiat, owns Case, New Holland and Steyr tractor brands.

With such a long and rich heritage, a Case Diecast tractor will make a great addition to your collection, or for the diehard Case IH fan, there are enough models to build an entire collection of just Case and Case IH farm toys.
